My Daily Matcha Ritual (and Why I Love It)

There’s something about starting my day with a cozy cup of matcha that instantly lifts my mood. It’s not just the ritual—it’s the energy boost, the health benefits, and let’s be honest… It’s also the cute mugs I get to use.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen my morning matcha in my stories. I get so many messages asking for the recipe, so I’m finally sharing it here in a format you can pin, print, and keep!

Why Matcha?

Matcha is packed with antioxidants and is known for its ability to:

  • Support brain function
  • Promote heart health
  • Aids in weight loss
  • Protect the liver
  • Give you a steady boost of energy, without the crash

Let’s just say it’s my not-so-secret weapon for a joyful start to the day.

My Go-To Homemade Matcha Recipe

What you’ll need:

  • Equal parts water and milk of your choice
    • I use ¾ cup of each—whole milk or a creamy plant-based milk works great
  • 2 tablespoons of Laird Superfood Creamer
  • 1 teaspoon of organic ceremonial-grade matcha
    • I’m obsessed with this one from Anima Mundi, a gift from one of my girls after a trip to Hawaii.
  • 1 teaspoon of organic maple syrup
    • I love the Madagascar vanilla from Costco, but Trader Joe’s works too!
  • A milk frother wand

How to make it:

  1. Warm the water and milk on the stove until it’s hot but not boiling.
  2. Add in the matcha, creamer, and maple syrup.
  3. Use your frother to blend everything until smooth and a little frothy.
  4. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy the little moment of joy.
